SPEEDY STEAL?
The Raiders third round draft pick of USC running back Justin Fargas may have been one of the Raiders best moves of the 2003 NFL draft. The rookie RB has outstanding speed and good initial quickness. Fargas, built with a strong "V" shape body, showed his good strength and agility at the Scouting Combine. Good athletic ability has enabled him to come on and really improve. Not only does he run hard with vision, but also has good blocking ability and decent hands. The six foot 219 pounder runs an outstanding 4.38 - recording the best time set since Deon Sanders' previous record at the combine. Also, his great strength and agility in the second half of the season improved his stock more than anyone in the Draft.
2nd Best?
Rumors in the Oakland Raiders Organization say that wide reciever Jerry Porter may move to the number two slot alongside Jerry Rice. Raiders veteran Tim Brown would then become the third wide receiver. This move would give the youngster a better oppurtunity to become an elite NFL receiver. Porter led the Raiders receivers in touchdowns last year with nine. He also totaled 688 yards with a 13.5 catch average
